I put a new battery in but it continues to beep. Why?


be sure the battery is installed correctly so that the voltage is measured by the unit. Also the possibility that the new battery was bad. If the battery was installed backwards it would not register and appear as a bad battery

The sensor could be dirty, dusty or greasy depending on location. Make sure you are using a ALKALINE battery and that it is brand new 9v inserted in the proper [polarity] +/+ -/-.
