I was told these could be hard wired or not but there are no screws in box. Does this type of alarm have to be hard wired into my electric


the title on the box says it all, 6-Pack AC Hardwired 120-Volt Smoke Detector. These are meant for either a first time installation or replacement of existing hardwired detectors that are past their 10 year life span. They have batteries because that is how you get protection during a power outage. The fact they do not have screws has nothing to do with whether they have to be hardwired, they do.
