Do both sensors (photoelectric and ionization) have to detect smoke in order to alarm, or will it alarm if just one sensor detects smoke?

Thank you for your question. Ionization sensors are generally more sensitive than photoelectric sensors at sensing small smoke particles. Photoelectric smoke sensors are generally more sensitive than ionization sensors at sensing large smoke particles. Both sensors do not have to detect smoke for the alarm to go off.
