Do they make one for garages; regular ones go off within minutes of pulling in and closing the door.

I would try you local Lowes to see if they have one. If not I would seek advise from your local Fire Department as they deal with this all the time. Good luck. I believe that you have to get a detector that senses heat and not smoke. but please check for advise before you buy anything.
