I am bridging 2 2/6" ceiling joists in attic with 2 2/4 pieces to support exhaust fan housing. Is this 4.5" inch screw sufficient or need longer?

If your definition of bridging (2) 2x6 ceiling joists with (2) 2x4s with our HeadLOK is driving the 4-1/2" HeadLOK through the side of a 2x6 into the edgegrain of a 2x4, then yes. the 4-1/2" HeadLOK is the correct length for this application.
