Hello - Yes, this fan will work on a 9-ft ceiling. The recommended distance from floor to the bottom of the ceiling fan is between 7-ft and 9-ft. The height from the ceiling to the bottom of the light kit on the fan is 15.65-in, giving you at least 7 feet between the fan and the floor.
