If pull chain is in the "on" position, can light be controlled by a wall switch + will there always be power to the outlet (for a garage door opener?


I have installed a few of these in a house we are renovating. All of them I have hooked to and controlled by wall light switches. I just pulled the chain so that the socket is “on” and cut the chain off. Two of them I use in a garage. I haven’t done a constant power hook up, but theoretically you could constant power the socket so the 3 prong outlet stays on, the only catch would be that the bulb would stay light.
