I have 1800 watts of lighting and want to know if a regular single pole switch or dimmer can handle that

Thank you for your question. Yes, this product will support 1800 watts of lighting.

1800 watts is equal to 15 amps (1800/120). This tells me this switch is rated at 1800 watts however lighting is considered a continuous load and the load on the switch is restricted to 80% of 1800 watts which would be 1440 watts or 12 amps. You need a 20 amp rated switch for an 1800 watt lighting load.

remember watts are not the issue amps are the question. You need to know how many amps you are pulling then the question can be answered

The switch can handle 15 amps worth. 1800 watts is likely going to throw a 15 amp circuit breaker. If you are on a 20 amp breaker, you need a 20 amp switch. Basic equation for amperage is power (watts) / volts. 1800 / 110 gets you a little over 16 amps. So if you have a 15 amp breaker, I think you will end up throwing it all the time.
