Installing Cooper Lighted Single Pole Switch

Try reversing the two wires you connected to the switch. Although with lighted switches I installed in the past, it didn't matter which wire (line or load) you connected to either terminal, the switch I purchased actually had a label identifying which wire to connect to the lighted device (i.e. "load"). Also, you might double check that the switch you have is the correct (i.e. "lighted") model because I just bought this same switch and found that some unlighted switches were mistakenly mixed in with the lighted models in the bin on the store shelf. They can be hard to tell apart if you don't look closely.
