how to tell negative from positive on the rocker switch

Hello, the Eaton Wiring Device Decorator switch # 7501W, is an AC rated switch only, you cannot put DC current through it. The incoming HOT black wire goes to the brass colored terminals and the incoming Neutral white wire goes to the silver-colored terminals. The Green ground wire or bare copper wire goes to the Green colored ground terminal. Thank you.
