I have a glass opening but it has doors you can open and close I would not have to remove the doors for this unit? Is that correct?

Good Day, If you use it for heat you would need to open the doors for the heat to escape. If you are only using the flame effect the unit has a remote that you would not have to open and close the doors. Thank You Glen Dimplex Americas Customer Service
