What happens if you hit a nail?

Try to have nails or screws countersunk, grazing them will produce some sparks but will nor damage the tool. Direct impact to the screw or nail above the surface can be detrimental for the cutting blades. Prior to using the tool, do the visual inspection of the boards and try to make sure that all the screws or nails are countersunk below the surface of the deck.
