If it is connected to the bottom or tub port on a standard valve and placed on pause,will it force the water out the top shower head port?

Thank you for your question. Connecting this hand shower hose to a tub spout port is not recommended as this unit can not support that type of pressure. Even without using the Pause function, water will be forced to the shower head, but the pressure will eventually damage this unit internally. Best regards, Edward
