Was this Answer Helpful ?The unit does not come with a filter and one is not needed to operate it. However, if your water has too many minerals in it and this causes white dust to appear and settle outside the humidifier, a demineraliztion filter cartridge may be purchased.

Was this Answer Helpful ?yes. replaceable at recommended once a year (or twice if you want the product to perform 'optimally'. came w/one filter. all info is in instrucstion on lowe's site. replacement filters were sitting right by product on the shelf in the lowe's i went to.
