how sensitive is the motion sensor?


I don't know how your stairs are layed out, but you should probably put one at the top and at the bottom. You want it to come on as soon as someone approaches the stairs, you dont want to risk it not coming on till they are down a step or two, One in the middle might work, but to be safe you probably want one at the top and bottom.
