The description mentions heavy duty commercial light switch but can it be used for a regular home standard light switch safely?

In short, yes. Long answer, lights are typically 15-amp circuits. So light switches are usually 15-amp switches. It's always safe to use a larger amperage switch on a lower amperage circuit. Not the other way around though, never use a larger amperage device (like a bathroom exhaust fan rated for 20 amps) with a 15-amp switch. That's asking for trouble.
