SORRY. I answered for Natural Gas and not Liquid Propane. For LP Fuel it would be 176,400 BTU Per Hour Full Load. This is based on 70 cubic feet per hour at full load and 2,520 BTU per cubic foot of LP fuel.
Was this Answer Helpful ?The simple answer is 156,000 BTU / Hour Natural Gas. This is based on 1000 BTU per cubic foot and the fact that appliance BTU is always rated at 100% load.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Generators are rated by watts of electricity produced. BTUs (British Thermal Units) are generated by furnaces.
Was this Answer Helpful ?The BTU production of the unit is waste heat from the engine, this will vary with the electrical load at any given time, higher load more fuel burned more waste heat. The 10kw generator running at 50% load consumes 102 scf of gas per hour, this yields 102000 btu per hour max heat, at full load consumption is 156 cu ft per hour or generates a max of 156000 btu per hour. I would guess that 70 percent or so of this energy would be in the form of heat radiated by the engine cooling fins. So I guess you could expect about 80 to 100,000 btu per hr heat to be disipated or available for other uses if you can capture it. Hope this helps. It could yield enough heat to heat a good sized house if you could capture the waste heat.
