how do you go about getting a license plate for the trailor?


Licensing laws vary by state, check with your local DMV for exact rules. In most states you must take the manufacturers certificate of orgin provided by Lowe's at time of purchase along with your register receipt to your local tag office to register trailer and obtain tags. This is the process in the states where it is the easiest other states have more requirements. Your local Lowe's that sells trailers will be able to advise you on the local process.

Although not sure I think you get a certificate of origin with the purchase of the trailer, take it to dmv and pay the fees. But you may still need to go get an inspection from the highway patrol (in California) Google certificate of origin...
