Different states have different registrations for these Utility trailers.. Check with your local county tag office there in Kentucky and they will tell you the requirements in Kentucky for registering a Utility trailer..

I know you asked about KY. I live in N.C. and registration of utility trailers is a better kept secret that NSA. I checked the DMV website and they are unclear. I finally got a streight answer from a NC State Trooper. He said if you keep the trailer within about 50 miles of your home they will not require tag or registration. Since I plan on taking trailer out of state I will title and tag the trailer in NC. I have friend that lives in TN he has not registation, title or tag required there.

You don't have to register your utility trailer if you only plan to use it within Kentucky. However, since not all states recognize Kentucky's laws, you will need to register your trailer if you plan to take it outside of the state.
