Should you use this product only for storage , or anytime through the season?

I'd guess the lubricant in the product would be good for the pump at any time. The main reason for using it is to prevent freezing water from damaging the pump. Product information says to use Pump Saver before storage and before start-up the next season. Probably most important: Follow your equipment manufacturer's instructions.
