The 1/4 collet will not go in the 1/2. I took the locknut all the way off and fully tightened it, with no luck. How do I fix this?


Sounds like the 1/2" collet was deformed by tightening the nut without a bit.bThat would account for the 1/4" collet not fitting. I suggest taking the collet nut completely off and try to force the adapter into the 1/2" collet. Remove the adapter and replace the nut. The adapter should then fit. Be sure to insert a bit BEFORE tightening the collet nut.

You may need to have a new lock nut sent out to you if the 1/2inch collet is deformed inside of the nut. You can call 1-888-356-2258 for a replacement lock nut!
