Router motor is turning in the wrong direction to get full use of the table, how does one correct this?

I doubt it rotates backwards. If you look from the bottom , the router should turn counter clockwise. Looking from the top the router should turn clockwise. If you look at the bit it should bite into the board. Generally, if you are using your router in a table you move the board right to left, if you use the router in hand you move left to right on the edge nearest you. You tube or a router book will go into details.
