trouble mounting in table

The shank of the bit needs to be raised. You can pull up the bit. Make sure there is enough left in the collet so that the bit won't go flying out and poke your eye out.
Was this Answer Helpful ?you need to uncompress the router. That makes it "taller" and then the bit will come through the table.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Check the depth rod. make sure the depth turret is out of the way and the rod is up. Also, one of the bits I used was small and I had to seat it up higher than the longer bits.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Change to plunge stop length.
Was this Answer Helpful ?You are not doing anything wrong. The design of this router and table combo is faulty in this regard. Almost like the table designer and the router designer did not talk prior to putting the two items in the same box. Two things I did to get past this problem are: remove the depth gage from the side of the router and second, loosen the collet and pull the router bit out a little. Make sure you leave enough of the bit shank (about an inch) in the collet as it could create a dangerous situation. Tighten the collet tightly. Adjust the router depth without the depth gage and finally put the depth gage back into place pushing it all the way up until it stops.
Was this Answer Helpful ?You have the cutter mounted too deep in the chuck.
Was this Answer Helpful ?By any chance is the depth gauge still attached? I had to take mine off so the router would go all the way down.
Was this Answer Helpful ?I had the same problem. The only answer I found was to pull the bit up in the collet enough to get it through the table, but it seems then that the collet does not hold the bit well enough for some cuts. I did find it strange that with the "plunge" all the way to one end of its travel, the bit did not come through the table enough to make the cut I needed. Yes, please, wouldn't a more descriptive manual on operation (in addition to just the assembly) or video on operation be a GREAT addition to this product?!
Was this Answer Helpful ?Hello, Congratulations on your new router and router table! We hope you find many years of enjoyment and satisfaction from your purchase. The opportunity your experiencing can be satisfied in two ways. First, the bit shank of the router bit should only be inserted into the aprox. ½ to ¾ into the collect. If this has occurred please follow step two. Before attaching the router to the table, place the router on a hard surface and plunge the router down into the fully plunged position. This will allow the bit to protrude though the top of the table. This might have to be adjusted again to accommodate your routering needs. Thank you
