The Bayer Advanced 12 month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed should only be applied once a year.

Ask at the Bayer website; it's a 12-month release and I've had fabulous results following their directions. Seems it'd be a waste of money to do it more often, maybe there's an alternative product that would only fertilize (and not add systemic treatment for pests).
