Either formulation of BioAdvanced 12 Month Tree & Shrub Protect & Feed is just as effective. Which you apply and which is easier to apply depends solely on personal preference. After measuring the circumference of a tree trunk or height of a shrub, the granules are designed to be sprinkled around the base of trees or shrubs and watered in. When using the concentrate, the appropriate amount is mixed with 1-2 gallons of water, depending on the size of the tree, and this mixture is poured around the base. -Madison
