I'm sorry you're having trouble. Please place the clamp edge on a flat surface, put your thumb and fore finger on the orange indented part of the movable clamp. Then, glide the movable clamp toward the end/handle. You may also insert a flat head screwdriver between the gray and orange piece to pop it free.
