if the pipes coming out of the wall are to far in what to I get to extend them?

Typically, you would want to contact a plumber to help with anything extending into the walls. You'd need to sweat (solder/weld) on extensions. Ideally, these would be a matching (chrome?) finish, with cover plates to obscure the holes. You may be able to find compression extensions for your copper pipes, which would be OK, but if you make a mistake, or if there's a little leak, you'd be back to cutting/soldering. There may also be push-on fittings too, but they're held with a small, steel wire. Having that up high where water could get on it is just asking for trouble. Once the wire rusts through, the fixture would pop off if bumped, and you'd have a couple of hundred gallons on your floor before you could make it to the shutoff.
