Is half inch male hose thread the same as a half inch pipe thread. I want to screw a 1/2 in male push adapter into and use to pressure test water line

It matters the number of threads per inch. 1/2 to 1/2 aren't necessarily going to match up. You'll have to ask what measure the seller is going by - garden hose thread and galvanized thread won't line up if that's the question?
