Can this be installed before the valve?


It depends on the brand and model of filter (wye strainer) used. For example, the 3/4" Agrifim #PRYF-30 -30psi Outlet Wye Filter is rated at 20-150 psi static pressure on the inlet side meaning it can be used on a mainline where the static water pressure does not exceed 150 psi. This model incorporates a 30 psi pressure regulator in the strainer body. It's recommended flow range is 0.2 gpm - 5.0 gpm #12 gph to 300 gph#.

I believe this unit is not I designed for constant pressure. It should be down stream from a valve.
