How does the outside unit mount ?

You can use 3/4 PVC conduit per Accurite, but it isn't rigid enough to extend upward more than a few feet. The conduit "bell" fits the provided mounting base and then fits into the sensor. (NWS anemometers (wind speed) are generally 33 feet high)

We recommend mounting the outdoor sensor at least 5 feet above the mounting surface however, the higher the better. We recommend using a 3/4 schedule 40 pipe which will have an outer diameter of 1 inch.
