does the internal aspirating fan always run? And if it stops working what then?

I just took my unit down for cleaning last week (I relocated it in the yard too). In the sunshine I could hear the fan running and when I walked into the garage, out of direct sunlight, the fan stopped, stepped back out and it started again. It works just as they say it will.
Was this Answer Helpful ?No, the fan will only run when the sensor is in direct sunlight. The fan will run as normal as long as the panel is always kept clean and clear of debris.
Was this Answer Helpful ?I suspect the internal aspirating fan has a life expectancy just like everything else I can think of and at some point it will cease to run. When it stops workling then it should be buried with appropriate dignity and respect.
Was this Answer Helpful ?The internal aspirating fan, which is powered by the solar panel, is only needed when the sensor is in direct sunlight and will only run during this time. When conducting normal maintenance, such as battery changes, it is a good idea to be sure the solar panel is free of buildup from dirt and debris, this will keep the aspirating fan running.
