What's the difference between satin, flat and semi gloss paint?

Thank you for your question. Flat provides a look with no sheen and will not provide a very scrubbable surface. However it is the best sheen for hiding flaws in the surface. Satin is a mid-sheen that is recommended in kitchens and bedrooms as it is much more scrubbable. Semi-gloss is a higher sheen and is typically used in bathrooms or trim work throughout the home. Semi-gloss while it will be the most scrubbable will also show any and all flaws on the walls.
