Can the semi-transparent stain be applied to a newly constructed deck or does it need to cure?


Yes, as long as your deck is porous. You can test the porosity by preforming a splash test. Sprinkle some water on the surface, if the water soaks into the surface you can proceed with stain. If the water beads up your deck is not ready to be sealed.
