Will this cover deck railings that have been previously oil based stained? They are brown now and will be painted white. Do we need to prime first?


If you are making a drastic change in color when painting then a stain blocking primer, such as the Valspar Bonding Primer, is recommended. A latex based product can be used on the oil based stain.
