I used sherman williams paint and primer and got very poor coverage. I want to use this to repaint my kitchen. Is this a good paint to use.

I can't answer for Sherwin Williams house paints,but I sure can on the automotive paints... The automotive line that Sherwin Williams has is absolutely horrible, nightmarish if you will... It don't cover, you literally have to keep on spraying and covering (watch some of the you tube videos of painters painting cars) automotive industry painters will give you this advice, if you like to paint use Sherwin Williams paints, because you will be painting no lie... The matching with Sherwin Williams automotive paint is also horrible, night marish, you can chip the car with their chip oh it's perfect right up until you pull the car outside of the paint booth into the sunlight... I stuck with Dupont, House of kolors, and ppg and never not one time did those paints ever miss... As Bill Cosby said "the proof is in the pudding" Sherwin Williams doesn't make pudding so far lol

Was this Answer Helpful ?Based on my recent experience, the paint with primer works no better than just regular paint. This stuff gummed up my brushes and seemed to dry out too fast. If you take your time and you don't have to cover a bright color, regular Valspar or Behr works well so don't spend the extra cash to get the primer/paint combinations.

Was this Answer Helpful ?It would have the same results.I tried to paint over a very pale mint green color and I can still see the green under the white paint after 3 to 4 coats

Was this Answer Helpful ?I have also had iffy luck with Sherwin Williams. I can highly recommend the Valspar Ultra-Premium Kitchen and Bath paint. We did 3 bathrooms with it and were very happy with the results we got from only one coat. Good Luck!
