My wood deck was last painted 8 years ago. Can I use this product on a previously painted deck if I sand it to rough it up and power wash/clean first


Thank you for your question. The surface needs to be porous in order to allow the stain to penetrate. If the surface is cleaned and determined to be porous the stain can be used. Regards, Linda @ Valspar Customer Support
