How long should I wait to stain a new deck? Treated wood of course.


As long as your deck is porous enough to allow the stain to penetrate you can move forward with application. To test the porosity, drop a small amount of water on the surface if the water soaks in your deck is ready for stain. If the water beads up your deck is not yet porous enough for application.
