Cabot Tintable Neutral Base Solid Exterior Wood Stain and Sealer in One ( 1-quart )
Can this stain be applied on lattice under pinning that has already been stained with a natural stain/sealer

Hi, thanks for reaching out. Be sure the surface is free of all dirt, mildew stains, loose wood fibers and other foreign matter. To be effective, a stain must be able to penetrate. Surfaces must be sound and dry. (Moisture content must be below 15% or wood must be exposed to dry weather a minimum of 3 to 5 days.). While it is ideally best to go down to the bare wood and use our Problem Solver Wood Stripper, followed by our Problem Solver Wood Cleaner and then our Problem Solver Wood Brightener products, you should be able to forego the stripper and just use our other prep products. Power washing alone may not completely remove/clean the surface. Prepare previously stained or weathered surfaces with our Problem-Solver Wood Cleaner and then our Wood Brightener. Once done, it would be ideal to do a porosity water test. Sprinkle water on all surfaces. The water needs to darken/absorb into the surface within 10 seconds. If it takes longer or the water bubbles, you will need to use our Problem Solver Wood Stripper product. Best, Dane @ Cabot Customer Support
