Does this product really hold up to rain? I live it oregon where it rains a lot! So does this product help bead up the water and repel it?

Yes it will hold up. Water will bead up, puddle or pool on the surface when it's sealed. In order to be effective, a stain must be able to penetrate. Surfaces must be sound and may be dry or damp. If damp, the wood should be free of puddles and not feel wet. The appearance of the finish will vary depending on the porosity and color of the wood surface.
