Will the codes taken off the original paint cans of a brand not sold at Lowe's allow for the matching of the original tint?

Different retail chains use different colorant systems for tinting and those codes will not transfer from one retailer to another. If you can bring a sample of the color (small brush out of 2 coats) and the name and color number of the color you want tinted, the store will do its best to match it.
