When it comes to your plumbing system, the essential parts
of connecting the pipes to a water source are valves. Sometimes the valves have
issues and have to be replaced. This can be when your water flow or your water
pressure is too low or high. Valves are a part of various plumbing systems
including bathrooms, kitchens and washing machines. These valves come in
various sizes and types, so it's important to know what you're looking
for.
A water shut-off valve connects to the pipe where the water
enters the room. This can be under sinks and behind toilets. These valves
ensure that the water is able to be shut off in case of maintenance issues.
Even though these valves aren't used frequently, the water can deposit minerals
on the valve causing it to not function or leak.
The washing machine valve connects the water to your washing
machine. This is the water inlet valve and it consists of two threaded ports
connected to your hot and cold water hoses. The temperature is determined by
the settings on your washing machine and the water level switch determines how
much water should be moving through the hoses.
