Riser pipes in rigid PVC allow you to connect from a sprinkler line, typically under the ground, to a hose faucet, drip manifold, shrub head, spray head, impact sprinkler, or gear-drive rotor. The wall thickness of PVC risers is thicker than Schedule 40 pipe which means it has greater rigidity and pressure rating. As plants grow you can extend the riser above the plants via addition of a coupling and another riser. Use a support stake to stabilize taller risers. When you no longer need a riser, you can simply thread a cap onto the end of it. Riser inlet/outlet sizes for residential applications are 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch, and 1-inch male pipe thread (MPT), with lengths spanning from just the pipe threads (“close nipple”) to 48 inches. Compatible with irrigation components from Orbit, Hydro-Rain, and other major brands. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.

Orbit   Auto Drain Valve

The automatic drain valve or “auto drain” protects irrigation pipes from freezing in colder climates where that might be an issue. The auto drain has 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch male pipe threads (MPT) which thread into the outlet of a tee or elbow at the low point(s) of the piping for a zone. The auto drain has a seal which closes when the valve turns on and pressurizes the zone and opens when the valve turns off. This allows the line to be empty when the zone is not in use. However, this also means that the water from the zone— about 4 gallons in a 100-foot section

Traditional valve manifolds are constructed with glued PVC or threaded Schedule 80 risers and are very difficult to service. The pre-assembled manifold has special swivel unions which create a secure, watertight seal against each manifold component and the valves. If you ever need to add a valve or replace a valve, the procedure is as simple as unthreading the swivel, sliding it back, and adding or replacing the valve. The process of adding a drip filter and pressure regulator is equally simple. The heavy-duty preassembled valve fittings are compatible with all 3/4-inch and 1-inch valves from Orbit, Hydro-Rain, and other major brands. For a professional-quality manifold installation, mount the preassembled manifold on the valve box base with a standard valve box covering it. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.

The Blu-Lock removal tool kit is specifically engineering for removing 3/4-inch and 1-inch Blu-Lock fittings from Blu-Lock pipe. Blu-Lock is built to withstand operating pressure of 100 PSI and still be releasable should you need to remove a fitting to add or reconfigure a lateral or swing line. Simply insert the steel portion of the removal tool into the fitting, press down on the ergonomic collar with one hand, and twist the pipe out of the fitting with the other hand. The fitting and removal tool are reusable. Note that 1/2-inch fittings have a release collar built into the fitting. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.
