What Customers Are Saying
This stud finder is praised for its accuracy in locating wood and metal studs, as well as its ability to detect live electrical wiring and other hazards. The large LCD display with color-coded indicators makes it easy to interpret the results, and the laser line feature helps users precisely mark the center of studs. However, some users find the device overly complex, with too many modes and settings, and there are occasional reports of false positives or inaccurate readings, especially when dealing with deeper studs or wiring. The size of the device is also noted as being larger than some basic stud finders.

I had an application in which I needed to locate a live wire in an interior wall. I purchased the SuperScan unit because it was advertised to meet my needs. Unfortunately, it gave me many false alarms indicating that the wire was present when it wasn't and was never able to accurately locate the wire. Its ability to locate wall studs was equally as poor as its reading were unreliable and unpredictable. I had purchased an electronic stud finder about 20 years ago and hoped product improvement...

Dud, doesn't work!!!
I just bought this stud finding tool, opened the package, put in a brand new 9v battery that I just bought from the store, and the equipment turned on for a brief second then turned off. I put in 3 different new 9v batteries and it still had the same problem

Great Stud Finder!
The Zicron SuperScan H4 works very well detecting studs behind different types of walls while filtering out metallic false positive objects. The 4 modes are very convenient for locating wood/metal studs, detecting and avoiding live AC voltage and ferrous/nonferrous metals. Very nice LCD detailed display. I have used it multiple times and can 100% trust the results. Highly recommended.
great features. bulky.
my first impression was that the unit was a bit bulky compared to other stud finders. different settings are very useful, but watch out for false positives - make sure you use a tape measure and check the spacing of the studs. also be sure to read the owners manual to get a full understanding of how to use. one feature i would like to see is an on switch - this would be useful for marking studs along long runs and at awkward hand positions, so you don’t have to stop and start again. also, one ot...
