Not even at half throttle this splitter split through knots and y pieces. Happy with my purchase so far. Assembly was simple however the instructions say to pull the cylinder into its notch it ought to say slam it into notch because it is a very tight fit. Was barely able to get the bolts started they're still a gap in that notch as if it could have went back another 3/16 of an inch. Thought I was going to have to call Yard Max to get a workaround. Yardmax 30 ton splitter is impressive

Researched the 30 ton Yardmax half vs full beam splitter and decided on the half beam. Would have purchased the full beam if I would be towing on the road instead of just using it on my property. It also appears that the half beam allows you to stand closer to the splitter when operating it. Took about an hour and a half to assemble with minor issues. A couple of the bolt holes had to be reamed a little to get the bolts started. Assembly instructions are easy to follow. The splitter is ship...

Other than having to tap a couple holes in the frame the assembly was not that bad. Just be sure the unit is on flat surface the first time you start it to keep the hydraulic fluid from leaking out. Once I got it started it splits like a beast.

I have been researching log splitters in this size for a while. When I went to my local Lowe’s they had to order it ,I could have purchased what they had but I wanted the yardmax. This machine works great made easy work out of my pile of logs,assembly was straight forward and went together well. You will not be disappointed, I highly recomend.i want to also mention tha the price was very competitive and their customer service was top notch.
