YARDMAX 28-Ton half-beam log splitter 28 -Ton 208-cc Briggs Stratton Engine

I am limiting my review to the assembly process only. I have not used the splitter yet and will update my review after running multiple cords thru it. I purchased the 28 ton half bean splitter. Great Splitter - Very Impressed!!

I was not sure about getting the half-beam instead of the full beam but glad I did. It is still heavy duty splitting tough logs while fairly easy to move around and the lever action on the top is a back saver!

Follow instructions carefully.

Well built machine. A little tricky getting the beam in place. Having a tractor with a front end loader makes assembly much easier. It rotates to vertical position much easier than a full beam. Engine as delivered seems to run a little slow at full throttle. Adjusted and runs and splits wood much better. All and all impressed with the machine.

Good value for the price

One man assembly instructions were somewhat easy to follow.

Great versatile splitter

This splitter is solid and love the versatility of splitting vertical or horizontal. The rotating base helps a lot with large rounds. I would recommend. The only down side was that it came in a large crate and needed to be assembled. I wished Lowes had made that clear before curbside pickup.

Overall works well but...

The unit was fairly simple to put together with one person assembly. The only issue that I have had is the plastic "guide slide" is pushing out on both sides underneath the wedge and between the "retainer slides". I am going to have brass guide slides machined to replace the plastic. I've seen this problem in other reviews. This review could have been a 5 star if not for this problem.

Superb machine and outstanding purchase experience with Lowe's.

Quality Log Splittet

Would highly recommend this log splitter! The quality of the unit is top of the line. The performance is excellent and starts on the 1st pull. Splits oak and ash logs like butter. The only problem occured in deivery but was worked out with Lowes. Overall very Happy with this purchase.
