It cut through any and all logs, with a 21" length cut. There's not much I can't put in there and split. Easy starting. It sat there for a year. I put some gas in it and pulled 4 times and it started. I love it.

Great Splitter
I've used the yard max 25 ton for 2 years. Starts every time. I keep it under my wood shed, it never gets wet. 98 percent of the time it starts on the first pull. the other two percent it because I forgot to select the on switch. lol

Pleasantly Surprised 4.75 stars
Was pleasantly surprised at the performance as I had never heard of Yardmax till I bought this. I have spit stump pieces as much as 4 foot across. The rotater in the foot does what is designed to do in eliminating torque twist on the beam with gnarly logs. Everything was included in the crate. Even the Reservoir was pre filled. But you will need help to assemble it if you buy it still crated. The only thing that I did not like is the wheel bearing seals came preinstalled in the wheels, add t...

splits through tree rounds with ease
we bought it in April and had it delivered to us. putting it together wasn't too bad. it definitely required 2 people at certain times. I wish the oil cap was in an easier to pour place but nothing a funnel couldn't fix. as for start up, simple when you follow the directions and only takes 1 or 2 pulls. the splitter itself is a tank. gets through solid rounds and the log catcher is great in saving my back. all in all, I am very satisfied with this splitter after approximately 20 hours of running...
Higher Quality Than Expected
This machine is awesome. It splits spectacular. I split up large 30" diameter white oak wishbones with no problem. It struggled a bit but kept pushing right through. The quality seems very heavy duty. The paint job is high quality. The only negative is that the exhaust points straight down. I modified it to blow to the side and away from me so that I don't smell the fumes.
Will get the job done!
Ordering and pickup was easy (you must have a truck; 602 lbs). Assembly was great following the directions. No missing parts, no extra parts. (NOTE: Parts are extremely heavy!) I used an engine hoist to lift the full beam assembly. The B&S engine started on the 2nd pull after adding the oil (supplied) and gas. It ran flawlessly while splitting 12" logs. Great product.
What a beast
I had problems buying it, and picking it up at lowes. Once I finally received it I had to disassemble and reassemble because they built it wrong. Started right up. I've split about several cords with it so far, biggest trunks which were about 8 of them were 40 inches around. They were sitting for about 8 months but it got the job done. Great splitter at 25 tons and cost.
Awesome Splitter
Only gave 4 stars because this was not a 2 man setup job. My buddy and I required the use of a backhoe to set the beam. Otherwise, awesome splitter...fired right up, worked great, no bogging under load.
Splits wood like its hot butter
The machine works great and just how you would want a wood slitter to. Operation is smooth and the power is enough to get through even tough varieties of wood.
