Bird feeder deters squirrels & large birds

I was tired of crackles and blue jays emptying my feeder in a matter of hours so I ordered this one with a cage around it. It definitely keeps out squirrels and most large birds. The red bellied woodpecker can reach the seed with it's long beak which I don't mind. I wish it held more seed and the lid was easier to lift off. Otherwise I'm very happy with it. I would recommend it to others.

Keeps the Pests Out!

This is the second of these feeders we have purchased. They are very durable, easy to refill, and have good distance between cage and feeder ports. Great product.

Didn't Disappoint

We had one of these feeders in the back yard for close to 10 days. It kept the birds out and no squirrel ever got inside. In all those years we didn't experience any bird fatalities. Might be the mother of all bird feeders

Easy to refill, sturdy construction, does exactly what I wanted it to do.....keep the big birds away from the little ones. Now the little ones eat in comfort.

This feeder is squirrel proof. The caged walls, floor, and ceiling keeps the squirell from being able to reach any seeds. And the sliding pinwashers keep the lid locked on to prevent the squirrels from getting in the tube. the small birds (titmouse, nuthatch chickidee, red finch, sparrow) love it; they fly in and out with ease. I've even seen a downy woodpecker sticking his head in to get mealworms. (I fill the feeder with blackoil sunflower seeds with dried mealworms mixed in). And bigger bir...

Great feeder

I just got this product as gift and love it. Mine has wire openings large enough for red birds but not black birds that steal all the food and chase off all other birds. The openings are 2" which is large enough for them to enter and leave at will. There are other feeders so small that red birds can't enter - they may hender the birds - but not the larger 2" wire opening. Love it - but cost was little high.

DEATH TRAPS for birds!

This type of bird feeder [or ANY so called "squirrel-proof"caged bird feeder] is a DEATH TRAP for birds, especially small birds. Sadly, I had to find this out first hand, finding two starlings lying inside, their little necks broken. What happens is, in order to get to the feed, the smaller birds go deep inside the cage.
