We had troubel with this from the start and despite our warranty, Whirlpool just kept sending repair people who could not fix it and told us that the machines are junk. We basically dry for 20 minutes at a time and then have to stop and it often turns off entirely because the lint is a problem but you cant access the worst of it without taking the machine apart. JUNK. dont buy it -and it is definitely not a savings for the environment giving that it takes up to four hours to dry a towel .

Whirlpool WHD560CHW Ventless Dryer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dryer resets to factory settings after each Regular/Normal cycle with no way to override. Dryer door too large so fingers get pinched when opening. Dryer could have more clearance on bottom to enable cleaning underneath.

Good Product But Has Maintenance Issues
I generally like this unit. Big caveat is when the filters are clean and the coils are clean. I have had our for four years and it worked great for the first three and then experienced long dry times. It turns out that the lint eventually builds up on the coils behind the lower lint screen. Unfortunately there is a non-removable screen in front of the coils blocking the ability to clean them. I solved this issue by cutting out the screen and physically cleaning the coils. This greatly imp...

Unreliable at best.
Horrible - we bought this dryer in 2021 and since have experienced nothing but break downs with it. The unit had to be taken apart and repaired with new parts within 2 years of purchase. To this day it is unreliable - if you run a normal drying cycle, it is a gamble if you can run a second one in a row without the unit shutting off and refusing to start. Unfortunately the extended warranty has run out and so I am stuck with this lemon of a unit until it decides to one day stop working altogether...

NOT A FAN
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Planned to buy LG when we moved into this condo but the developers already supplied the washer and dryer as part of the ownership. I wish that wasn’t the case. I feel the same about the dryer as I do about the washer - it’s only a 1-star appliance. More buttons do not make these appliances better. I never do large loads and even at that it takes the 1-hour and 48 minutes cycle to MAYBE dry the load. Even at the heavy, bulky settings the tempera...

Problematic
Is installed in our apartment complex and makes the apartment like a sauna. It raises the temperature by at least 10ndegrees, takes way too long to dry even a small load of clothes. Really needs an exhaust fan of some kind to get rid of the humid air

Meh
I've owned this dryer for a year now. It's a great idea but not so great in reality. A few design changes and I'd say Whirlpool has a winner. First things first... Does it dry clothes? For the most part yes. It's not uncommon to find a load a little too damp at the end and have to run another 20 to 30 minutes on timed dry to finish it. The Eco mode cycle time is one hour and 30 minutes long. It runs the entire cycle time regardless before it decides if the clothes are dry. I've ran smaller loads...

Questionable QA for product
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is a replacement unit of another unit of the same model. The original one come brand new with the new condo. First few use already discover water leaking everywhere while trying to dry a load. Multiple visits from technician replacing multiple parts still can't resolve it. Finally they initiate an exchange for me. This new unit come and have exactly the same problem. Contact support again and luckily this time a more experienced tech...

Update to previous review
In the original review I said the following: “I have had this dryer for just over a year (warranty ended) and of course an issue begins. Before I get into that, just a few general comments on this dryer. First, it does take considerably longer to dry clothes but uses less electricity. It does however put a lot of humidity into the air meaning moisture on the windows in winter and extra warmth in the summer. It’s a bit more work than a regular dryer in that there are two filters to clean and whil...

Unfixable Within 2 Years
Owned less than two years and dryer is leaking water all over floor. Several attempts to fix but no luck. Purchased extended warranty when the one year warranty expired, but all that does is give a partial refund with whirlpool refusing to replace the unit. Between the purchase of dryer and the warranty, received about $500 total refund, which means I spent about $900 to use a dryer for two years. Will never buy Whirlpool again. Even before leaking, the dryer took a long time to dry and fad...
