The wire is flexible enough to navigate bends, but stiff enough to be able to push forward. The screen and image quality is adequate. However, there is no ability to control camera direction. A plumber previously came out and showed a problem area about 10' into a sewer line. I spent about an hour twisting and poking, tried to attach to a plumbing snake, but could never get the endoscope into position to capture the problem area the plumber had previously shown. I bought it to check out the intake and exhaust air vents to my tankless water heater and it revealed the culprit that was responsible for intermittent loss of hot water...a huge mud dauber wasp nest in the intake pipe. I wish I'd bought it ($57 including 3-yr warranty, shipping and tax) before I spent $144 on a plumber who had no idea what the cause was and left, telling me to call back if the problem recurred.
