The Rat Sound Systems CAT Rack FX is a 1RU 12 female XLR rack unit with Main and Parallel etherCON connectors capable of receiving up to 12 lines of balanced analog audio down 3 shielded CAT5 cables. The CAT Rack consists of 12 Neutrik XLR connectors and 6 Neutrik etherCON connectors. The 12 channels are broken down into three sets of 4 channels marked A, B, and C, which are transported down a shielded CAT5 cable. Each line can carry balanced analog, AES/EBU, DMX, and Clear-Com signals hundreds of feet away. The CAT Rack is a fully passive unit which can input directly into analog or digital consoles. Multiple CAT Racks can be daisy chained to allow the same channels to be dropped in multiple locations and you can combine them with the SuperCAT cables, CAT Boxes and CAT Tails for fully customizable snakes with multiple drop locations.
